PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTPENNDOT ANNOUNCES BRIAN ALLEN NEW CIVIL ENGINEER MANAGERWill oversee major projects including the Route 228 ImprovementsIndiana, PA (May 16) - On behalf of Transportation Secretary Allen D. Biehler, District Engineer Richard H. Hogg is pleased to announce that Brian N. Allen has been promoted to the position of Civil Engineer Manager in PENNDOT Engineering District 10's Design Unit. An Armstrong County resident, Allen fills a position left vacant when George Boros retired in March. In his new capacity, Allen, a Professional Engineer, will oversee the development of major projects in the District like the Route 228 Improvement project and the Interstate 79 Seneca Valley Interchange replacement project in Butler County and the Routes 22/217 Interchange rehabilitation in Indiana County. "I am looking forward to the challenge of working on new and exciting projects to better serve the Commonwealth and the traveling public," Allen said. "My goal will be to deliver quality projects on budget and in a timely manner." Allen, 33, was previously District 10's Contract Management Engineer. He has been with PENNDOT since 1992, holding the positions of Construction Inspector and Liaison Engineer in Engineering District 11 before moving to District 10 in 1995. In District 10, Allen has also held the positions of Assistant Environmental Manager, Project Manager, Acting District Permit Engineer, Acting District Locations and Liaison Engineer, and Environmental Manager. "Brian brings a wealth of experience and talent to his new position," said Richard H. Hogg, District Engineer. "I have every confidence in his ability to meet goals and serve our customers in District 10 with a professional and conscientious attitude." Allen is a graduate of Penn State University. He earned his Professional Engineer license in 1997. He lives in Rural Valley, Armstrong County, with his wife, Julie, and their sons, Josh and Jacob. |
