Mars, PA (April 8) - PENNDOT Engineering District 10 is pleased to announce that an awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2002, to announce the winners of the Route 228 Improvement Project logo design contest. The overall winning entry will be unveiled at the ceremony.

The media are cordially invited to attend this event to recognize the efforts of the students who submitted entries. Press kits will be provided at the event.

The contest was designed to involve the students, who will eventually become the motorists using Route 228, in the project. More than 400 entries were submitted from students living in the project area. The 18 semi-finalists will be presented with awards at the ceremony.

The overall winning logo will be used on all project-related materials and the student who designed it will receive a special grand prize and be offered the opportunity to take a ride in a PENNDOT plow truck this winter.
