PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
PENNDOT CREATES
ROUTE 228 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WEBSITE
WWW.ROUTE228EAST.COM
Butler, PA (July 23) - PENNDOT Engineering District 10 is announcing that a website has been created to keep its customers informed about the status of the Route 228 East improvement project in southwestern Butler County.
The site, www.route228east.com, features current news and up-to-date information about the project.
"We know the people of Butler County and the entire region want to know as much as they can about this important project," said Richard H. Hogg, District Engineer. "This website enables us to provide the public with a valuable communication tool that will keep everyone informed."
The website features the most recent news, maps, photos, project information, Community Advisory Committee (CAC) updates and other interesting features about the proposed project. There is also an opportunity for site visitors to contact PENNDOT with questions about the project.
PENNDOT District 10, in partnership with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), launched the project in June with two public meetings to begin the public involvement process for the project that will be designed to improve the Route 228 corridor from Cranberry Township to just east of the Route 8 intersection in Middlesex Township.
A CAC comprised of community members is being formed to help PENNDOT work through the environmental clearance process and develop a project that best meets the needs of the overall region. The public can follow the progress of the PENNDOT team and the CAC by accessing the website, www.route228east.com.
