Public Meeting No.1
350 People Attended First Public Meeting. Two identical public open house
meetings were held June 20 and 21, 2001 between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the
Mars Area Middle School. The meetings were conducted in an open house format
with periodic presentations.
Approximately 350 visitors to the open house had an opportunity to interact with Project Team members on a one-to-one basis. The Project Team received valuable information from the public regarding current and planned development, traffic and safety issues, historic and cultural resources, and environmental concerns throughout the project area. This input is currently under review.
The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the project to the public, explain the project development process and project schedule, present existing traffic information and discuss the project needs process, solicit interest in Community Advisory Committee membership, receive public input about the project and to debut the project web site.
